SPOTTED> THE FLARED JEANS TREND

ALL ABOARD  FOR FLARE

ITS TIME TO ABANDON THE SKINNY TROUSER

In the early 19th Century, when a standardized Uniform did not exist ,in the U.S Navy, Some Sailors adopts a style of  Wide Trousers ending in bell Shaped Cuffs
So its safe to say, the Pant we know and love (or Hate ) are derived from Navy uniforms,
(Department of the Navy Bureau of Naval Personnel:History of US Navy Uniform ).

In the mid 60's Bell-Bottom became  Fashionable for both Men and Women in Europe and North America often made of denim, they flare out from the bottom of the calf, they are usually worn with Cuban-heeled shoes, clogs or Chelsea Boots.

in the 70's Bell-Bottom moved back into the main-stream fashion (Cobb, Nath,July 1993, "Bell, Bottoms back, but thrill is gone",Boston Globe )
Sonny & Cher helped popularize bell-Bottom in the US by wearing them on their popular TV show

90's&2000's
In 1996,Women Bell-Bottom were re-introduced into the mainstream public under the name BOOT-Cut trouser as a flare was slimmer
By 1997, Flare jeans had come into vogue, among women (credit:Fashion In the 1990)
By 2006,the Bell Shaped silhouette started to fade as the skinny jean rise in popularity (credit:USA Today) skinny legs and all jeans got slender. Sharon Haver the founder of Focus on Style commented "its as if all the girls wearing premium boot-cut jeans threw them away one day ,and the next day began wearing skinny jeans and flats.(credit:wearer Beware mom Jeans).(credit*fashion year in review).

However, Boot-cuts and flare jeans never entirely went away and both of these styles remain relatively popular today both in Denim fashion and High Quality office wear

BUYING GUIDE
Flared Jeans can work for a variety of looks depending on their style and and the other clothes they are been paired with, jeans in dark colors like dark blue or black looks dressier than lighter washes.
since jeans have a casual reputation, dressing 'em up involves pairing them with more formal top, such has Silk Blouse, Heels also lend a more formal ,classy look, and heels of all kind looks great with flare.

Flared jeans dress down easily: Tank Tops, fitted T-shirt and Polo's looks good paired with them, the primary thing to remember is not to wear a BAGGY or LARGE top with flared jeans as that tends to overwhelm the jeans. *courtesy: eBay
